- BEARING -

 The Bearing

The true bearing to a point is the angle measured in degrees in a clockwise direction from the north line.  We will refer to the true bearing simply as the bearing.

The bearing or true bearing of P and Q is shown

For example, the bearing of point P is 065º which is the number of degrees in the angle measured in a clockwise direction from the north line to the line joining the centre of the compass at O with the point P (i.e. OP).

The bearing of point Q is 300º which is the number of degrees in the angle measured in a clockwise direction from the north line to the line joining the centre of the compass at O with the point Q (i.e. OQ).

The rule of bearing

1) bearing is measured from the north.
2) bearing is measured in a clockwise direction.
3) bearing is written as a 3-digit number.

A bearing is used to represent the direction of one point relative to another point.

For example, the bearing of A from B is 065º.  The bearing of B from A is 245º.

The relative bearings of A and B are shown

Lets check it out !! - Compass Reading Tips -

We are pretty sure that a lot of u already know about this, but perhaps this information will help others who didnt know yet. Yeyy!! Enjoy reading beautiful people :))

1) Hold the compass level - if the compass is tilted, the needle will touch the clear lid and not move correctly.

2) Read the correct end of the needle.

3) Use common sense, such as knowing that if you are in North America, Europe, or Asia and heading anywhere towards the sun, you can't be heading north, northwest, or northeast. If you are south of the equator and heading towards the sun, it's just the opposite and you are heading in a northerly direction.

4) RED IN THE SHED!

5) Keep the compass away from metal objects - even a knife, flashlight, or keychain can cause a false reading if too close to the compass.

Sharing is Caring!! Hope u enjoy :DD

compass.. what is it??

TQ beautiful people for being patient! :)

Lets go roughly trough this topic..
1st thing to know, what is compass??

this is the simplest compass that have 8 main directions in it which are north, south, east, west, north-east, north-west, south-east and south-west.

Q: WHY we must know what is compass??

A: This is because compass shows us direction and without it we wont know what is bearing.

2nd, how to read a compass..?

Q: WHY?? to get a right direction..

1) Hold your compass steadily in your hand so the baseplate is level and the direction-of-travel arrow is pointing straight away from you.

2) Hold it about halfway between your face and waist in a comfortable arm position with your elbow bent and compass held close to your stomach.

3) Look down at the compass and see where the needle points.

This compass is pointing due North (also 0 degrees)

4) Turn your body while keeping the compass right in front of you.

5) Notice that as the compass rotates, the needle stays pointing the same direction.

6) Keep turning until the needle points East like the picture below, keeping the direction-of-travel arrow and North mark facing straight in front of you.

This compass is pointing East (90 degrees)

Get a clearer view about bearing right now people?? :) That is all for today. See u in the next entry. We'll go deeper. InshaAllah :).
